Software Test Plan

Define the Scope of Testing

Given the complexity of today's applications, defining the scope of testing with a software test plan is critical. This scope is based on:

  • What's been build and how
  • What the software is suppose to do
  • Where the business priorities lie

Begin your test plan with a set of requirements. Requirements need to be written to a level of detail that allows the authoring of test cases. Requirements also need to be testable, meaning that the end result of executing some set of functionality is deterministic and quantifiable. A Test Management platform, like Zephyr Enterprise Edition, can help you develop your software test plans by linking requirements with test cases.
