Risk Based Test Planning

Risk-Based Testing

Risk-based testing (RBT) helps QA organizations prioritize software testing based on the risk of failure and the impact of that failure. Risk assessments are used for all phases of the testing process, including:

  • Planning
  • Design
  • Implementation
  • Execution
  • Evaluation

Comparing the changes between different versions of software is a key method for assessing risk. Changed-based testing and regression testing identifies modifications and determines whether a change, such as a bug fix, introduces new defects.
