JIRA + Zephyr = Comprehensive Test Life-cycle Management

Leverage Bugzilla

Zephyr provides 2-way integration with the popular open-source bug tracking system Bugzilla. This allows for defects to be stored in Bugzilla and added, searched, modified and tracked through Zephyr's Defect Tracking interface. Defect summaries are automatically brought into Zephyr and displayed in Project Dashboards

Integration with Automation Tools

Test Departments typically have multiple automation tools that they use, each of which come with their own management paradigm or none at all. Testing teams also have to create, manage and track manual tests. At the end of the day, these teams are working with multiple test scripts - both manual and automated - with no way to reference each other, jointly track or report on. It then becomes a painful and laborious process to provide comprehensive status across all of the testing that is going on.

Zephyr approaches this problem by being that one comprehensive system that tracks both manual and automation tests - irrespective of the automation tool that they have been created in. With an easy-to-use interface that allows manual tests to be marked as automated (for the ones that have been automated using any tool), Zephyr provides real-time metrics about the amount and level of automation that your test suites have.

Using the new ZBot and ZIP technology, Zephyr also allows these automation scripts to be kicked off on remote machines and provides an easy way to promote automation results so that execution metrics can be automatically calculated and comprehensive status across all of the test execution - both manual and automated - can be reported in Project Dashboards.
