Management

Samir Shah
CEO and Founder

Samir Shah is a seasoned QA Executive with over 16 years of direct test management experience ranging from startups in the Silicon Valley to global Fortune 50. Most recently, he was Vice President of QA Practice at Patni Computers (NYSE: PTI) where over a period of 6 years, founded, built and managed a 300+ person Global QA Practice generating $75 million in testing revenue. His broad experience includes various Engineering roles at Wollongong, Attachmate, and PointCast, helping customers such as AT&T, Virgin Mobile, Disney Mobile, Du, Good Technologies, Vodafone, WhitePajama, Bulldog, Grand Central, RCC, Visage Mobile, KnowNow and others.

Samir holds a Bachelor Degree in Electronics from Bangalore University and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama. Having been on the "other side" and perpetually unsatisfied about the quality, pricing and user experience of existing Test Management tools, Samir founded D Software and Zephyr to take on the challenge of bringing to market a refreshing new way of managing test teams. Keith Cook
Global VP of Sales and BD

Keith is a senior executive who possesses 18 years of experience in sales, business development and marketing selling to enterprise, IT and mobile software companies. Keith joins Zephyr from Smashcode, a developer of a text message application toolkit, where he was the VP of Sales and Business Development. Prior, Keith was the VP of Sales and Business Development, and founding team member, at DeviceAnywhere, a software solution provider to the mobile ecosystem, where he built strategic partnerships and alliances throughout the industry. Early in his career, Keith spent seven years at IBM in various sales roles in the Rational Software Division.

Keith received his B.S. Degree in Communications from Northwestern University.

Issam Bandak
VP of Operations

Issam Bandak's focus for the last 14 years has been in product and services QA, building, leading and managing test and engineering teams of varying sizes for startups, SMB and large companies. Issam has worked with companies such as Virgin Mobile, PointCast, Cingular, Wollongong, KnowNow, Grand Central, Carphone Warehouse, WhitePajama among others.

He has run large community and software delivery sites in the early days of the Internet including the wildly popular Papa Winsock-L site. Issam holds a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from the Indiana State University. Read his blog here.

Shailesh Mangal
Chief Architect

Shailesh Mangal is the Chief Architect and technology visionary at Zephyr. He has been developing enterprise and web applications for 14 years professionally, and has developed applications using Flex, LCDS, AIR, Java, Ruby, Groovy, etc. His main areas of interest include object-oriented design, system and cloud architectures, data dynamism, real time search and testing. He has yet to meet a technology he doesn’t want to play with!

Shailesh holds a Masters in IT from The University of Texas and a Bachelors in Engineering from India.

Sanjay Zalavadia
Director of Professional Services

Sanjay brings over 15 years of leadership experience in IT and Technical Support Services.  Throughout his career, Sanjay has successfully established and grown premier  IT and Support Services teams across multiple geographies for both large and small companies.  Most recently, he was Associate Vice President at Patni Computers (NYSE: PTI) responsible for the Telecoms IT Managed Services Practice where he established IT Operations teams supporting Virgin Mobile, ESPN Mobile, Disney Mobile and Carphone Warehouse.  Prior to this Sanjay was responsible for Global Technical Support at Bay Networks, a leading routing and switching vendor, which was acquired by Nortel.  Sanjay has also held management positions in Support Service organizations at start-up Silicon Valley Networks, a vendor of Test Management software, and SynOptics,  Sanjay is a graduate of the Manipal Institute of Technology (India) and VirginiaTech (Blacksburg, Virginia).

Lacy Edwards

A seasoned executive with broad industry experience, Edwards has been leading high technology businesses for 35 years and has depth of experience in marketing, sales, channel development, product development, technical support, finance, and venture funding. A successful 15-year veteran CEO, Edwards brings a wealth of experience in leading software technology startups to profitability and through successful IPOs. He is currently CEO of JME Software. In his previous role as CEO of Indicative Software, he successfully engineered a sale to Nimsoft. In his previous role as CEO of Evoke Software, Edwards took this unknown company and its first commercial product release into a fiercely competitive market. Evoke created the market space and named the industry segment now known as Data Profiling. Evoke's premier product, Axio, won several industry awards, consistently placing in the Top One Hundred most important software tools on the market. Under Edwards' skillful direction, the company revenues rose to $19 million positioning Evoke for acquisition.

Prior to Evoke Software, Edwards served as president and COO of Unison Software where he was hired to transition Unison from the proprietary HP 3000 market into the open systems, accelerate growth, and become the dominant contender in the open systems market. This required repositioning the company, bringing to market competitive open systems products, and building a direct sales organization as well as a third party channel sales organization. Within two years, Edwards took Unison from $14M to $30M in revenues then led Unison through a successful public offering in July 1995. Showing strong growth with its stock trading at $32 per share, Unison was acquired by IBM/Tivoli. In the years prior to Unison, Edwards built successful businesses as president and CEO of Servio Corporation, an object database vendor, and XA Systems Corporation, a vendor of software maintenance, application development, DBA, system software, and re-engineering software tools. Edwards held sales management positions with Honeywell Communications, HBO & Company, and Informatics.

Edwards' outstanding achievements have been acknowledged through various industry and corporate recognitions including Insider Magazine "CEO of the Year," Harvard Business School Club of New York "Entrepreneur of The Year," Honeywell Division "Manager of the Year," and twice placing companies in the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies. Edwards is a nationally known public speaker and has served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Preetish Nijhawan

Preetish is CFO at JME Software, where they are creating the next-generation of services and software for the enterprise. Most recently, Preetish was Vice President of Strategic Alliances at NeoEdge Networks, a video game advertising company. Preetish was also Vice President, Portfolio and Program Management for BMC Software, Inc.. Prior to BMC, he was Vice President, Operations of iVita Corporation, a Houston-based asset management software startup he helped found.
 
Preetish has also counseled senior executives on hardware, software and telecommunications industries for McKinsey and Company, a leading consulting firm. He co-founded Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) in 1998, He also worked for nearly six years in the Electronic Design Automation Division at Intel in various engineering related capacities.Preetish earned a bachelor's of engineering degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India, a master's of science in computer engineering from The University of Southern California, and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Steve Gross

Steve has spent over 20 years leading business development and strategic partnering initiatives with early and mid-staged enterprise software companies. Today, he provides corporate and business development consulting services to emerging and established technology companies. Most recently, Steve served as Vice President of Corporate Business Development for Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP). Previously, he joined Asera, a Kleiner Perkins created company focused on collaborative business processes, as employee #21, leading business development efforts for them.
 
Prior to Asera, Steve led the North America launch efforts of Mercado Software, an Israel-based developer of catalog search technologies as vice president of business development. He has also led business development for New Moon Software, a developer of thin-client technologies, and Sqribe Technologies (acquired by Brio), a leading provider of production reporting solutions. Steve began his career with Infinium Software (formerly Software 2000), a leader in financial, human resources and manufacturing applications, where he spent nine years in a variety of sales, marketing and strategic partner management positions
