Why we built Zephyr

Zephyr is the result of our experiences in the software testing profession over the last 20 years.

We know testing and we've lived through the pains of managing everything that testing is. We've struggled to make Excel work and we've paid ridiculous prices to purchase large complex suites that are now legacy. We've been employed at startups, emerging companies and large companies. We've experienced executing manual testing strategies at small teams and large teams and we've implemented automated testing strategies working with teammates in 5 different countries and many time zones. We've worked in engineering departments and in testing teams with every type of methodology and with onsite, offshore and outsourced resources for software product companies and in IT departments. We've built testing services companies and managed hundreds of globally distributed team members.

We reviewed what worked well and where we were challenged. We analyzed what tools provided value and a positive return on investment and identified the holes that were missing. We thought about how we communicated and collaborated with each other before, during and after test cycles. We pondered over how we could cut down on cutting-n-pasting, constantly providing status and creating reports, searching in multiple places, etc. And we lamented the fact that it was really difficult to fit our varied testing lifestyles to the way existing tools worked. Our real challenges and issues were just not understood or appreciated.

We then poured all these experiences in designing and creating a unique test management platform that innovates on many fronts - technology, user-interface, deployment and business model. Zephyr addresses the above challenges and makes test management easier, test cycles faster and test team members more effective. We continue to innovate and raise the bar as we continue to execute on our mission.

Zephyr is an exciting software company headquartered in Newark, CA, with our people spread out in Bangalore, India and Europe. We are funded by Cervin Ventures, Western Technology Investments and Amidzad Ventures, have a great Advisory Board and are growing fast.
